The CHARGED UP Scholarship celebrates African American women who are Confident, Hopeful, Ambitious, Ready, Grounded, Energized, and Determined. It is designed to support students who demonstrate leadership, resilience, and a commitment to academic and personal growth.

Awarded to African American women planning to attend a four-year university during the 2026–2027 academic year, this scholarship provides $1,600, disbursed in two installments, directly to the recipient’s bursar account. Applications open on January 31, 2026 and close on March 31, 2026. The recipient will be announced on April 23, 2026.

Financial support can make the difference in whether students graduate. Scholarship recipients are about 15% more likely to finish college. Yet Black women continue to face barriers in higher education. While 67% of White women earn their degrees within six years, only 44% of Black women reach that milestone. These disparities highlight the ongoing need for targeted financial support.

The CHARGED UP Scholarship exists to help close this gap. By providing meaningful financial assistance, we empower African American women to focus on their education, pursue their goals with confidence, and reach their full potential. This scholarship is an investment in future leaders and changemakers, ensuring recipients have the resources they need to succeed in higher education and beyond.
